Prior Lake is located 20 miles southwest of Minneapolis in Scott County.  Prior Lake, seen as the sister city to Shakopee, was incorporated as a village in 1851 and is one of the oldest south metro cities to have been absorbed by suburban Minneapolis / St Paul Growth.  The current population of Prior Lake, according to the 2010 census is 22,796.
