Jordan Community Information
Jordan is located in the South Metro area of Minneapolis just a short 30 miles away and 20 miles from Bloomington. Founded in 1854 residents of Jordan enjoy living along the wooded bluffs and rolling hills of Scott County. To think it all started when a crew of men were sent from nearby Shakopee to build a saw mill. Eventually, flouring mills, breweries, general stores, hardware stores and today it represents a flouring city within Scott County. Jordan Schools
Jordan is part of Independent School District 717 and is made up of three primary schools. Jordan Elementary, Jordan Middle School and Jordan High School. One of the unique aspects of the Jordan School District is it’s single campus, which houses all of the district schools. The facilities are excellent with the oldest being built in 1965 and the newest 2003.
When considering homes for sale or real estate in Jordan you can be comforted by the districts pride in low class room size, it’s earl childhood program, it’s pre-school and after school program. These programs allows families purchasing a home in Jordan to have flexibility with their commute knowing that there are plenty of great opportunities for your children.
