In a bit of a surprise move, the new Mayor of Shakopee announced a plan for the Viking’s Stadium right here in Shakopee, MN!  A Viking’s stadium would certainly be a boon for businesses in and around Shakopee, and without question would have tremendous benefit to Shakopee real estate.

With the 494/169 interchange receiving a substantial upgrade, traffic to and from the stadium would be a breeze!  Situated at the 101/169 interchange, the Viking’s Stadium in Shakopee would have great access from the north and south (via 169), and east and west (via 101/13).

The proposed plan would be financed via user fees, and a Racino/gambling.

Here are some other details:

-130 Acre Stadium Site, four times size of Metrodome, three times the size of Farmers Market and Linden Avenue sites.

-Adjacent City owned 105-acre lot zoned for park and recreation contains lake, room for parks, trails and overnight camping.

-Near other entertainment destinations of ValleyFair, Canterbury Park, Raceway Park, Murphy’s landing and Mystic Lake.

-Total cost of approximately $920 million.
